Azerbaijan Medical University

Azerbaijan Medical University (AMU) was founded in 1930 on the basis

of the medical faculty of the Baku State University (BSU). From this

point of view, our university, which is considered the successor of the

medical faculty of BSU, has almost a hundred-year history.

Along with 4 existing clinics of AMU, there are 6 academic buildings, an

office building and 6 student hostels with 1,700 seats. Only one 11-storey

modern educational building can accommodate 2,500 students.

Preparatory courses for foreign students

Taking into account that medical science is a constantly developing field, in

knowledge of Azerbaijani and English is more important for medical stu-

dents, after admission to Azerbaijan Medical University (AMU) through the

portal, foreign students are taught by highly qualified specialist teachers in

Azerbaijani and English language departments. Azerbaijani and English lan-

guages are taught for 3 months. After that, along with the languages, they

take Physics, Chemistry and Biology classes in those languages in 3 months

and pass the exam at the Virtual test center of the University and are admit-

ted to the 1st courses of the relevant faculties of the University.

Admission of Foreign Citizens to Azerbaijan Medical University

Foreign citizens who wish to pursue higher education at Azerbaljan Medi-

cal University (AMU) are invited to apply through a structured admission

process. The application and admission process consists of the following

stages:

1. Online Application and Registration

2. Interview Stage

Once submitted documents are reviewed, eligible applicants will be invit-

ed for an online interview. During the interview, applicants will be assessed

on their knowledge of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and the language of in-

struction they are applying for (e.g., English, Russian, or Azerbaijani)

The interview fee is 100 USD (excluding bank transfer fees)
